What is SMP?

Scalp Micro-Pigmentation (SMP) is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo. Using small impressions/dots creates the appearance of hair follicles, camouflaging the appearance of thin or missing hair.

How many times do I need to attend?

The treatment is completed over 2 or 3 sessions; this enables a realistic textured result that matches each person’s skin and hair colour.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is between £350 and £500 per session, with a maximum of three sessions needed. This depends on hair type, length, and the total area covered.

Will it look natural?

Achieving the most natural and age appropriate results is the core focus of each treatment, each persons results are tailored to them and their expectations.

How long do the results last?

Treatment results last, on average, 3-5 years. After this fading begins, clients can decide whether they would like to have additional ‘top-up’ sessions to maintain the SMP appearance, or if left alone, it will fade away.

Is it just a tattoo?

No, not at all. Real Me SMP uses only the best scalp micro pigmentation products the industry offers and never uses standard tattoo inks. This is essential for achieving natural results that do not have a tainted colour undertone.

Is there any preparation and aftercare?

After appointments are confirmed, pre- and post-care instructions are sent out via WhatsApp.

SMP is not invasive or surgical and does not require ‘downtime’ or recovery time. It does not disturb hair follicles, cause hair loss, or compromise hair transplant results.

How long is each session?

Appointments last, on average, between 90 minutes and 3 hours, depending on the area and the client’s wishes.

Are you registered?

The studio is fully insured and council-registered. All clients must be over 18 and complete a medical health questionnaire at their first appointments before treatment commences.

How much is an initial consultation? I want to see if it’s right for me.

All consultations are free of charge, and there is no obligation or pressure to book. They are usually conducted via video call.
